Gothic Arches Challenge Eggs-travaganza

This is my entry for the Gothic Arches Challenge here. We are spending Easter Sunday with friends who have young children and there will be an Easter Egg Hunt. When I saw the challenge I thought this was the perfect opportunity to create an item for the hunt. The images all came from Graphics Fairy (apart from the bird which I drew). I began with the original bird's nest mounted on card and then printed a second nest and glued it on top of the first one. I added seam binding and the pocket for the egg hunt clues was ready.

The cards for the clues for the hunt are printed from Graphics Fairy.

I covered some chipboard in paper for the egg hunt title and tissue and glitter for the dangling eggs. Yellow ricrac at the bottom and pale pink ribbon for the dangling eggs.

Now all I have to do is hide the eggs and write the clues...

Gothic Arches Challenge - Bedecked and Beribboned

I made two (was feeling like messing about and too indecisive to choose one tonight) Gothic Arch cards for the Gothic Arch Challenge on the theme of bedecked and beribboned. I know I don't make cards as I am too messy for that but I am challenging myself to get out of my comfort zone and be able to use what I create...I made the first one inspired by Gail Milburn's article in March Craft Stamper p16, she had stamped a Lynn Perella head and then embellished it. I like the fact that the spectacle charm also makes the lady look like she is crying - there was a lot of Glossy Accents being spread around here.

I used pieces of paper from 7 Gypsies and cut them out and altered them. This is a card and I cut an aperature in the middle and then placed a scrap piece of 7 Gypsies acetate in the space and some inked scraps of doilies and seam binding.  I used some lacy ribbon around the bottom of the card and to create a necklace.
The second card is more girly. I spent ages finding dictionary definitions around the idea of ribbons, haberdashery, milliners and adorn and glued these down with a little blue tinted mod podge. I then used cosmic shimmer chalk purple. I was going to spray it but the nozzle clogged so I just painted it on instead. The lovely ladies came from The Vintage Moth. I think it was originally an advertisement for hats. I then added some baking twine or ribbon or bling to each hat and stuck them down. It seemed a little unfinished so I made holes all round the edges and used another piece of bakers twine to sew around the edge. I should really measure or draw lines when I do this as you can see the holes are not perfectly lined up. I wound the twine around the bottom of the card and added a dragonfly charm.

Extravagant Art Journal

Almost caught up with the prompts again. This time the theme was extravagance and I added some expensive ribbon and some very bling buttons from the ribbon girl.

I stamped the background with a shorthand text stamp from Paper Artsy and then that hair dying comb came in useful as I made white dots all over page.

I used Claudine Hellmuth's Dwelling stamp in purple acrylic and then stamped the second part of the stamp with embossing powder and silver pearl embossing powder. The journalling was written on black paper.
