Art Journal Page and a beautiful place

This page combines the doodling and layering prompts on UKScrappers. I was away for half term at the beautiful place below so had less time to play but the views were worth it.
I gessoed the page and then used red, pink and yellow dylusion paints with a water wash. The heart stamp is from Indigo Blu. I then tore some scrap pieces of TH paper and glued it on with and added more gesso.

I also added more around the edge. I was going to punch butterflies out of some inky card waste but found a pile of them inside my tonic border punch so stuck them on first and then after punching some out of the card tore the card into rough shapes and stuck on at the top.
I then doodled lots on the page, using purple and white sakura gel pens and a sharpie, whilst watching tv. It was very calming - the journalling was about my hate of the commercialism surrounding Valentine's day and around the heart I wrote about why I can be romantic, just not on that day.

Sorry I neglected my blog and hope you are still out there

Sunset over the point of Sleat
Eek - not blogged for almost 8 weeks and I come back and Blogger has totally changed. I have been trying to navigate my way round. This is what happens when you leave your blog unloved and abandoned. What can I say? Life got in the way. My lovely computer went into melt down when Lens Guy tried updating the software and took weeks to fix. June was crazy end of term stuff (much earlier holidays in Scotland), the usual end of term illness, taking a school trip to Stratford and much more. At the end of the month we fled up north to Arisaig and apart from a trip to T in the Park that is where I have been. I have crafted a little but not a lot and I took many many photos. Apologies for all the photos but I just wanted to let you know I have been busy.

The sea really is that colour

T in the Park was fab even if I am getting to be an old rocker.

Primal Scream - amazing

It was very muddy

On our travels

We have been away for a few weeks in the Highlands of Scotland with friends. It was very relaxing and peaceful as there was no technology or wireless etc - even the phone signal was poor. We found ways to amuse ourselves with the kayaks and an buoy washed up on the beach.
One evening out for a walk we came across this bike on the sand...

The finished card and where I was last week...

My finished valentine's card turned out okay although went a bit mad with the glitter. It was a hit with Lens Guy but confused the hell out of him as we never give cards but I think he got how much I appreciate everything he has done recently. I have been away for the week staying in the West Highlands near Arisaig but here is a picture of the finished card. We were staying at the house with friends and went for long walks on Camusdarach beach everyday. It was very cold but beautiful as you can see. The girls could not resist paddling and as usual the water came over the wellies. Youngest daughter had a bit of a crisis as she was wearing drainpipe jeans which were covered in salt water...If you have ever tried to remove skin tight jeans that have dried on salty water you will understand her predicament. Looking at the pics of the beach I wonder why we still go elsewhere in Louis Louis.
